September knew the time had come.
There were nine months to prepare, but it didn’t make it any easier. The calendar days were crossed through and October’s turn was here.
Still, September wasn’t ready.
“Just one more week. One more day. One more day…”
But it was useless.
The black marker struck the 30th with finality. A sharp tearing and the page drifted to the trash can.
October had thirty one days to go.
