I saved writing this post for the night before (again) when my brain is dead, so I’m going to jump right in on the optional question:
What publishing path are you considering/did you take, and why?
Think I’ve answered this one before, but self-publishing. I’ve seen *so* many friends embark on entrepreneurial dreams and they can because it’s a possibility. That’s what self-publishing is: the possibility for authors to put our art out there. I would still love to be traditionally published, but gaining an audience is crucial, and self-publishing is slowly—but surely—helping me do that.
Okay, my brain is officially dead now.
I’m going to go fall asleep on the couch with Appa 😊
Insecure Writer’s Support Group (IWSG) is a monthly blog hop for writers at all levels to share their fears and insecurities in a safe and encouraging place. Please drop by and say hi to Alex Cavanaugh who started this nifty concept in bringing us all together.
I, too, waited until early morning to write my blog post. I just now published it. I think we all would love to have at least one of our works picked up by a publisher, but I’m enjoying the self-published route for now.
Here’s to the procrastinators! 🙂
I’m just looking at the cover for Better Than Now. Love that graphic. Hope you slept well and happy IWSG Day!
I did! Ha! But probably too well because I’ve been thinking about sleeping again all day. Thanks for the comment on the cover!
Personally I love all the possible ways I can fail! And trust me, I’ve hit a lot of them. On my Bingo Card of failure I’ve filled two lines and all four corners.
You would’ve won Bingo by that point, which makes you a WINNER.
Hope you got some rest! I rarely schedule posts in advance, unless I’m doing it for someone else. It’s usually “hmmm, it’s Wednesday… I should write something on my blog!”
That’s how I used to be until I started missing posts. I have to be strict with myself or I’ll let myself off the hook too much 🙂
I love the way you put that – the possibility.
Visiting from IWSG
I spend too much time playing games on my computer once its up and running. Shame, shame.
I want to be Trad Pubbed too, but as my actual writing has fallen off, so has my dreams of instant riches through an agent and perfect publisher. Some form of hybrid is my focus right now; I suppose I can learn marketing, but I need someone to format, edit and acquire a cover.
And before all that, I need my butt in a chair, computer on to a writing project, not a game.
I definitely hear you on posting last minute. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. I know many of us are in the same place.
