I can’t believe I’m writing June’s IWSG post since I just wrote May’s yesterday. Somehow 31 days passed since them. Strange.

June crept up like the ninja it is and I’ve been scratching my head all day trying to figure out what I’m insecure about. Which is everything, let’s be honest. But I’ve been trying something new lately. Staying positive. Really forgetting all the other bullshit that comes along with this lifestyle and just keeping my eye on the prize. The big prize. The hell yeah you’re a professional writer now, bitches prize. So that’s what I’ve been doing this month (besides writing a *ton* crap) Positive thinking. Throwing caution to the wind and just getting the work done. And actually betting on myself this time around.
July’s post is probably going to be way more inspiring than this, but I offer you these awesome quotes in challenge. Go on. Try not to feel motivated.

Hey CG, way to keep writing and keep swimming! That will definitely get you to the “I’m a professional writer, BITCHES!” stage.
I attended a presentation by some romantic suspense authors and they were saying how they often act out fight scenes with their partners, so maybe you and your boyfriend could do that too, hehe.
Bwahaha! Like Batman would do that. 🙂 It is worth asking though because mostly I watch Braveheart and try to describe what happens. Battle-writing 101.

I’m in that trying to stay positive phase as well, although I’m probably less productive than you lol. Mine is more like I can’t fix this crap, but hey, it’s OK this is better than what it was a few weeks ago! Anyway, keep writing! We’re all in this together!

Oog, yes. This is the sort of thing I have to tell myself all the time, and not only in writing. Just keep trying, keep going, and it’ll work eventually. One way or another. And a lot of it really is just about getting the work done.
Also, since you asked about beta-reading on my blog and I don’t know if you’ll check back there: first, yes, I’d be thrilled to have you as a beta-reader, thank you so much for asking. ^_^ Second, did you mean that you want to read the book I recently finished, the one I spent a few paragraphs on? Or the crazy one I just started? The first one might be ready for pre-reading in August, the second one… I have no idea. >_<

Ah! That’s the crazy story. ^_^ I’ll let you know on that one; I’m only three days in and I have no idea how long it will take to write or edit it.
It’s always hard to stay positive once the stories are done and you’re trying to get them to your audience. I think it’s the nature of the beast. I’m glad to see that you’re still going!

Any creative endeavor that we do comes with insecurities. We give birth to it and so it’s part of ourself. Putting that work of art–in whatever form–out there makes make one nervous, worries, and afraid. The thing is, you’re doing regardless and that’s something to celebrate.
I have a quote I like and it applies to writing as other areas in life, “The tragedy life is not death…but what we let die inside of us while we live.” Kudos to you for not letting your dream die.
