Pay it Forward, IWSG

Check them out here!

Yes, I’m at work.

But I’m not really working because I’m not at home writing, so this doesn’t really count. I only mention this because sometimes you have to find creative times to write… like when your boss says she’s going to be in a half an hour late and since you have a great view by the window and your only cubie neighbor is on vacation this week, you might be able to sneak in your blog post for IWSG (of course this constant head turning to see if anyone is standing over my shoulder will most likely send me to the chiropractor. Oh well, small price to pay for being creatively awesome.)

This is my second post for IWSG and I want to take it to share some wisdom I’ve learned: pay it forward.

I don’t consider myself selfish; I just kind of do my own thing. It comes with this drifting in and out of reality (I’m too busy concentrating on where I put my own feet) that I forget you guys are all out there too, looking to promote yourselves and your books. So, apart from this awesome article about self-publishing that fellow indie author Delia Strange posted on her blog, I wanted to give you guys the opportunity to promote your stuff in the comments. Give me a good book to read, a book for others to read so we can share it via word-of mouth, facebook, twitter, mountaintop shouting, whatever. For real, go crazy. List your stuff. I’m interested. Others are interested.

What’ve you got?

My blog post on the IWSG this month is about how one can serve others through one’s writing, so I think our two perspectives kind of mesh. I hope people will visit my blog and read that post, and find out a little what I’m about so they can decide if they want to read my blog (and my short story and other writings that I’m plugging there.)
    Blessings,
    Nissa

I hope you enjoy the IWSG. I’m so glad you’re part of our group. I joined last year with this blog and when I needed to start my second blog, I signed up again. As a brain hemorrhage survivor, I felt the need to open up about what life is like post brain injury.

Writing has always been such a wonderful outlet for me. I love it. I hope you will find the time to pass by both my blogs. Have a great evening. Lily-Eva, IWSG, Co-host

Hi Lily-Eva, wow! A brain hemorrhage survivor! Writing is extremely cathartic so I’m glad you chose that outlet to share. I will definitely check out your blogs! Take care 🙂

Promoting myself scares the crap out of me (thankfully not literally, otherwise I’d be concerned about my bowels). I suppose that comes with being an insecure writer. My book is called Thanmir War, and if you like epic fantasy, you might enjoy it. Heck, if you wanted to read it, I’d send you a digital copy for free!

I try to support indie authors. A lot of the time, they don’t get enough exposure for their writing to take off, even though the story is good. I’ve read another sci-fantasy that I liked, so I’m looking forward to checking out your books.

Just shelved your book on Goodreads. I’m reading the final Lux series book but after that, it’s on to epic fantasy! (And I promise to write a review 🙂 )

That’s really generous of you! I find it easier to promote and help others than say anything about my own work.
Don’t think I got a chance last month to say welcome to the IWSG.
I write space opera, which might not be your thing, but my latest, CassaStorm, really focuses on family and relationships, so you might like it.

Thanks for the welcome and for setting up IWSG. It’s a really great idea and I’m glad someone went ahead and set it up. I’m going to check out your space opera now 🙂

You’re awesome! I love IWSG, they’re a wonderful group. I was just thinking how wonderful it would be to have us all get together into one building. Ooh, the fun!!!

I write all sorts of genres (I am crazy that way), and the basic theme is inspirational through trauma. I only have one book out (so far, my publisher hasn’t given me a release date on my others), and it’s a paranormal romance. 🙂

    Thanks for your post. 🙂

Wow! Just checked out your webpage… you’ve got so many books coming out! That is AMAZING! Thanks for the comment and yes, if you know of the entire IWSG members getting together to hang, let me know. I’ll bring cookies.
